“Boom” at the Belfry Theatre
“Boom” at the Belfry Theatre
August 20, 2015
If you have a couple of hours to be completely wowed “Boom” is for you. Written, directed and acted by Rick Miller, it is the most intelligent thing I have seen in a long time. Rick takes three, culturally diverse sides of his family tree and combines them with the music and events of the time (1945 to 1969) using today’s technology to pull you into a 3D kind of holographic stage presence. You will be very impressed, moved and completely entertained. Rick even stays around after his performances to chat and answer questions from the audience. Who does that?
Here is part of Rick Miller’s bio from the Belfry’s program:
Rick Miller is a Dora and Gemini award-winning writer/director/actor/musician/educator who has performed in 5 languages on 5 continents and who Entertainment Weekly called “one of the 100 most creative people alive today”.
If you get a chance to check out Boom you will not be disappointed. I would like to extend a huge thank you to Rick, his team and the staff at the Belfry Theatre for bringing this fantastic performance to Victoria. Check out the upcoming performances at the Belfry Theatre.
