Dine Around Victoria
With flurries and sub-zero temperatures hitting Victoria this week, it may take a bit more gumption to leave your comfortable abode – however there is one very good reason to do so! Starting this week on January 17 and running until February 2nd is the city’s most anticipated foodie event – Dine Around Victoria.
Dine Around is an annual event put on by over 60 restaurants in Victoria is an effort to entice locals to try new restaurants and chefs to try new recipes during the industry’s slower months post holiday frenzy and spending. Diners can choose from set price, three-course menus ranging from $20 to $50, with the option to add VQA wine pairings. To celebrate the launch of this event, the Victoria Conference Centre is hosting the Dine Around Kick-off Gala on January 16th. Chefs will be present to discuss their culinary creations, and attendees can try bites from over 50 participating vendors.

Did you hear that 8 Victoria restaurants have made their way onto Yelp’s list of top 100 places to eat in Canada in 2020? Way to go Victoria! The interesting part is that Yelp created their list by compiling millions of user reviews over the course of 2019 to determine the most popular and highly rated restaurants across the country. So it’s not just Yelp saying we’re good, it’s the thousands of real life individuals who have weighed in with their top picks. One restaurant in particular deserves special mention, as they not only made this list, but they also feature a menu at the Dine Around Victoria event – Olo. Located in Old Town Victoria, Olo features seasonal ingredients sourced right from the island. I just had lunch and my mouth still watered just looking at their Dine Around menu!
